BECSA plans to provide members with the opportunity to network through discussion circles, road shows, workshops, association meetings and other events. The members communicate via a Linkedin group, a newsletter, publications, case studies, presentations and interactive dialogue. It is an educational resource for its members and helps them to conduct countermeasures successfully.

Business Espionage Countermeasures South Africa (BECSA) was founded in October 2011. It is a voluntary professional association for individuals with an interest in countering corporate espionage and who recognise the uniqueness of the task in the corporate environment.

BECSA was formed to coordinate and promote business counterintelligence and business espionage countermeasures in South Africa in a constructive and positive manner.

BECSA members are professionals experienced in the protection of critical business secrets and intellectual property. Members are business managers, counter espionage and security experts, technical surveillance countermeasures (TSCM) experts, consultants, legal professionals and other professionals concerned with business espionage.

BECSA aims to become the authoritative industry voice to introduce and promote business espionage countermeasures in South Africa. It further aims to bring countermeasures experts together in a formal network to establish protocols, controls and guidelines to South African corporations and businesses to counter to growing threat of business espionage.
